Tags. How Important
-
Hi.
I’m nervous. I’m afraid this is a stupid question. I’ve read up on as much as I can on driving traffic to your blog and I’m still not quite GETTING tags.
AKA. I recently blogged about my experience as a Hospice volunteer. So, I just made up the tags “Hospice” “Death” “Hope”.
Is that all there is to it? Will someone do a search on one of those three tags and fall madly in love with my blog? Yeano. I just strongly suspect I am missing an important element. What is it?
Thanks, kindly, for your guidance!

Have you read about categories and tags in the wp.com support documents?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/tags/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories-vs-tags/Think of categories as a way to organize your blog; think of tags as a way to mark individual posts with details about things within each. Categories are like an index or table of contents while tags are about small specific words in each post.
As well as organizing your site, both categories and tags have their role in search engine optimization, in being found in the Reader, and in driving traffic to your site.
