Tags on posts

  I have just finished publishing a new post under a new category with a new set of tags. However when I look at my blog it displays older tags related to the earlier posts. Also I can’t seem to figure out this global tag listing business. Everytime I add a new tag it adds to my older tag cluster increasing the no. of tags to more than 10. What am I doing wrong here? Please help.

  Where exactly are you talking about the tags showing? Under the posts, or in the tag cloud in the sidebar?

  These are the tags I see appearing on the latest post:

  Australia, Mumbai, Music, Nashik, Photography, Recreation, Shiraz, Sula, Wine

  Thanks! When I saw these they were the old ones in the tag cloud in the sidebar. Another small issue, when I publish a new post in another category why does it appear under the title given to the older posts. I don’t want the latest post to appear under Photo essays: Ellora caves. Why does this happen, can I not give the new post a new title or edit the old one in the sidebar? If yes, would be grateful to know how. Thanks in advance for your prompt reply.

  You mean in the sidebar tag cloud? Nothing wrong. The tag cloud displays up to 45 tags.

  b) “Photo essays: Ellora caves” is the title you’ve given to the Recent Posts widget, so of course the latest post will be included. What exactly do you want listed there instead?

  Photo essay: Ellora caves is a recent posts widget. It will automatically show all the recent posts (whatever number you have set for it to show), no matter the categories, in reverse chronological order, newest at top.

  If you want a listing of just “photo essay’s, you will have to use a text widget and manually update it as required.

  and now, for a small clarification: My ratings graphic does not show up either on top nor bottom of my posts even though I have enabled them both ways. The dashboard says its done but the blog view either shows it next to the 3rd image as i scroll down or not at all. I also seemed to have lost my earlier ratings in the process! :-( My apologies if I’m being a pest, but i cannot for the life of figure out why this should be the case.

  Morning Rich!

  @shabnamphoto: Your ratings show up next to an image because you’ve set the image alignment to left, which results in wrap-around (the rest of the content, including the ratings, will start next to the image if there’s room enough). One way to correct this is to set the alignment of all the images to None (they’ll still be left-aligned but with no wrap-around).
