Tags reader and the disappearing access of blog pieces searched by tags

Why do blog pieces disappear from my reader tag based collections – is there a short window they stay searchable? I follow and advocate for the return of celilo falls and try to follow anything being written on celilo falls. I have learned to keep my tags and categories under 15 so they show up – and they show up after I write them then they disappear after time — I know several other bloggers who write on celilo falls – yet if you search under celilo falls in the reader no articles show up – why is this – is there a lack of memory in the system that wipes out anything older than 3 months or something – sure would be nice to be available on a longer time frame and to research the evolution of writing over time on the topic – thank you for helping me figure this out.
