Tags Surfer help…

Add topic to favorites
…for the past couple days when I check out my Tag surfer section it freezes up (crashes my browser) and nothing shows, except for some youtube video. I don’t understand how it happened and I can’t edit the tags either to try and fix it.

What is your operating system?
What browser and version of it do you use?
Have you tried force clearing your browser?
Windows ctrl F5
Mac Apple R
Linux F5

I’m using Firefox on a Mac, with OSX 10.4
I’ve cleared everything out, even went so far as to restart my Mac and nothing changed.

Well that’s the pits. There is no staff support on weekends except for urgent matters so you’ll have to send in a feedback on Monday.

Aside: I stopped using the “tag surfer” because of the number of videos that were in it. However, none ever crashed my browser.

weird, thanks for the help anyway! :) If you read this, is there a post somehwere that tells me how to change permission in Askimet too? It says it blocked 6 messages but I’d like to see them.

If you search for “Tag Surfer Firefox” on the forum, you will find this thread that i started a while back:

Basically, if the posts are image-heavy, you’re not going to be able to see any of them. I have given up on using the Tag Surfer in Firefox, but it works in Safari (oddly, since practically nothing else on WP works in Safari).

@preciousmetal… there’s a couple threads on Akismet. I’m not going to rewrite what I wrote yesterday (I’ll find the link) but I’ll bet that those 6 comments show up in a few days time.

They’re probably gone for good then.

Like I said, Akismet can be a bit fickle. In fact, the forums we tied into the system… aren’t tied into it anymore because it was blocking stupid stuff like quoting what the previous poster had said even if you didn’t add anything and URLs that aren’t remotely spamish (and the person who programmed the tie in didn’t give us a way to train Akismet, so once that’s done we’ll reactivate the tie in).

You can send in a feedback and ask staff, but my guess is that they’re gone for good.

Have you had readers say that they made comments that didn’t get posted? If you did then simply get them to post again. And if you didn’t then I wouldn’t recommend sweating the small stuff.
P.S. Thought I’d mention that if you don’t clear your spam within 15 days then Akismet does it for you.
