Take domain off inactive site

  Hi all,

  I’ve recently set up my blog under the domain name “mrjswift”. I was however hoping to gain the domain name “mrswift” which is currently inactive but not deleted.

  I was wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and if there is a way of looking into whether the site of the domain you want is inactive. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

  Hey there,

  Your only option is to try and contact the owner of that URL by leaving a comment (provided they have comments enabled) and asking them to transfer the site to you. Staff will under no circumstances transfer a domain to you belonging to someone else, nor supply you with contact details for the owner, regardless if that address is being used or not. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
