Take me to a Random Blog
-
I have recently transferred from another blogging service and i’m very happy here at WordPress. And i’m obviously still getting used to the differences.
One of the neat little things that the other blogging site could do was to take you to a random blog. This was often quite a treat and you could find yourself reading something you’d never have normally found.
Is there any similar feature here? I’ve tried search the Support but found nothing.

Hi. Yes, such a feature exists. Just add /next/ to your blog’s address. Example:
http://en.blog.wordpress.com/next/ -
Oh now that’s interesting. So i could put a text / html widget that said :
to offer my readers the chance to find a totally random blog. Hmm i like it. Thanks.
Any other /~~~~/ URL suffixes? -
~~ airodyssey – I think you gave them next and not random.
Put this in a Text Widget for a Random Post:
<a href="http://your-URL-Here.com/?random">Random Article from Your Site</a> -
What airodyssey gave was the link to bring one to a random blogon WordPress.com. What auxclass gave will bring you to a random post on a single blog.
If you are using a modern browser, you can drag the link that airodyssey gave up to the bookmark bar and click it to visit random sites on WordPress.com
We used to have this functionality in the gray Admin Bar at the top of the screen. Just speculating out loud…perhaps Staff decided to remove it because of a few blogs collecting dust and cobwebs.

I actually like both, so i’ve added a widget for each in my sidebar. The Random (within same blog) stays in the current tab where the Next (to a different random blog) open a new tab.
