Take off headers on other pages besides front- Pictorico
-
Hello,
I would like to remove the headers on all pages/posts of my site but the front page. I like the featured thumbnail/grid images on the posts, but I don’t always want the header. I spoke to a rep on chat and he directed me here. I am brand new to CSS so I would really really appreciate the whole “how to”. Thank you!!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can try the following block of code, entered into the CSS tab of your site customizer here: https://wordpress.com/customize
Here is the code to paste in:
.single .entry-thumbnail { display: none; } single .entry-header { height: 140px; }This will remove the featured image (and reduce the height to a reasonable amount) on blog posts on your site.
Hope that helps!

It did take away the header image but it left a big, black, blank space. (Blank space as big as the header when there is a picture). Is there anyway to remove it completely? Thank you so much for any input. I really appreciate it!!

Hi there, let’s add a background none to the entry-header and then also set the background to the entry title to none.
.single .entry-thumbnail { display: none; } .single .entry-header { height: 140px; background: none; } .single .entry-header .entry-title { background: none; } -
Hello! This did seem to work and took the header off of all posts. The only problem is sometimes the header image completely disappears and leaves the site with a big black space.
Thank you very much for getting back to me and all of your help! -
Hmmm, I can’t seem to reproduce this on your site. Is it happing to just select posts, or on all of them randomly?

It was happening, but I played with it a bit and took off the header and reapplied it again. It seemed to fix the problem. So far I really like this theme and the look of our site but we keep experiencing little glitches. (The header was one-but fixed now). The other problem is that when we use the back button on our browser, it does not take you to the previous page. Or any page for that matter. It takes us to a page with only one post on it, which doesn’t really exist. If I need to post this in a new forum I will. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. And I am thankful for the help thus far!!

I think it would be best if you reposted this separate issue in the general support forum, as it’s not related to CSS customization:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/support
Things that will be very helpful when you post:
– mention which browsers and versions you’ve tested in, test more than one
– provide a screenshot, including the URL, of what you mean by this: “It takes us to a page with only one post on it, which doesn’t really exist”Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/You can upload the screenshot – in a graphic format like JPG, PNG, or PDF – in your Media Library so staff can see it.
Add the tag modlook to the tags area of the thread in the right sidebar, to make sure staff will see it.
Thanks!
