Takedown notice and retractation

  Hello,
  I have send a DMCA complaint about a blog user that copied too much of my own blog post.
  The DMCA Notice has been received and reviewed for completeness and the content of the other blog post has been replaced with a DMCA removal message.
  The other blog owner got in contact with me to resolve the issue and we are ok : He will modify his post and a link to the post that ‘inspired’ him.
  What I don’t know is what we have to do now.
  Support pages on WP, says “First, we encourage you to try to resolve the issue directly with the copyright holder. If the unauthorized use is the result of an honest mistake or misunderstanding, the complainant may send us a retraction of the takedown notice.”
  He did.
  But what is the next step ? He has something to do ? I have something to do (like sending a retraction) ?
  I’m very worried about this case, because the plagiarism blog owner has admited honestly his thief and agree to modify his post.

  We are unable to assist unless or until you provide the site URL starting with http:// so we can verify hosting. Are you referring to a site hosted by WordPress.COM or not? Please post the URL here.

  Thx for your reply. The blog post that has been taken down is hosted by WordPress.COM.

  If the post has been removed from the other site then the issue has been resolved.

  You don’t understand. Yes, the post has been removed from the other site.

  But as the wordpress.com advices “First, we encourage you to try to resolve the issue directly with the copyright holder. If the unauthorized use is the result of an honest mistake or misunderstanding, the complainant may send us a retraction of the takedown notice.”

  That what he did. We agree that he will modify his post and add a link to the source page.

  But what is the next step ? I (as the copyright owner) or he (as the plagiarsim user hosted on wordpress.com) has do something ?

  Hi @lqueraud, I’m checking with our ToS people to see if there is anything else you need to do, but it sounds like there isn’t. I’ll verify and let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

  @lqueraud, there is nothing more you really need to do. If you filed a DMCA with us, you can if you would feel better, reply to that and say you are retracting it and all is good, but there isn’t a real need to do that. The other site is fine and will not be suspended or anything.

  Hope that puts your mind at ease.

  I have replied and confirmed that I’m satisfied with the arrangement I’ve made with the site owner and WP will restore the content.
