Taken (but non-existent) domain name

    I would really like to have the domain name theemily.wordpress.com, but the name appears to be taken. However, when I search for the website, I’m told a site with that name does not exist?
    1) How come I can’t have it then?
    2) If the name IS taken, is there any way that I can get it? Maybe contact the current owner and ask if I can have it?

    The address theemily.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved!

    WordPress.COM now reserves the blog name that matches an account name. You would need to contact the account holder and get them to register the blog then transfer it to you. You are on your own to contact the account, WordPress.COM respects the privacy of the account and will not give you any contact info
