Taken to Global Dashboard when i log in

I started this blog yesterday and have it private at the moment while i set it up (the reason i haven’t added my URL). When i log in i am taken to the Global Dashboard. I have had blogs here previously and this has never happened with my other blogs at WP. Is there a reason for this happening? Is something wrong? Thank you.

When i enter my name and password and press log in i am taken to WordPress Global Dashboard. This has never happened with other blogs i have had here, i am usually taken to the dashboard of my blog. I have cleared cache etc and have even tried a different browser too, but same thing is happening again and again and it’s driving me nuts now!! I just want to go to the dashboard of the blog in question, and not have to take an indirect route to it. Thank you.

Have you tried clicking on the “My Blogs” link next to “My Account” on the top gray colored navigation bar on the left hand side? -
Thank you, but it’s not that i can’t access my blog. The point is that after 4 years of having different blogs here i am suddenly being taken straight to WordPress Global Dashboard when i log in. This has never happened in all these years until now. To me that indicates there is a problem somewhere because if it was the normal thing to be taken to the Global Dashboard on log in, it would have been happening right from the start 4 years ago and would also happen to every other person on WP with a blog. I just want to know how to stop this happening, please. Any clues as to why this is happening?

This morning when I logged into the Forum (while on a thread like this one) I was taken to some sort of Global thing – used to be I was just left on the thread I was on – so had I been logging in to comment on a thread I would have needed to go back to the main Forum page and start over.
I have not tried fixing it – but if this is the new behavior then a great leap back.

OK thanks. It’s got so annoying now i have an urge to just delete my blogs. I will contact Staff first though. Thank you for trying.

I suggest you wait for staff’s response rather than deleting the blogs just because you have to take an extra step. This could just be a temporary glitch.

Thanks. It’s a Welsh thing!! I have no patience!! But i have sent the problem to staff and have resisted the urge to delete…so far!

I also recommend patience. As airodessy has said this could be a temporary glitch that compels a second click. But if you delete a blog then it’s gone forever. The URL cannot be recycled and reused.

@timethief i was being rather tongue-in-cheek…although one extra click IS a click too many for me, as it’s pointless and needless. I will post back here when i get a response just in case anyone else encounters this problem. Thanks all..

I haven’t heard anything from staff yet about this problem, but i have logged into my blog twice in the past hour to check things, and the problem has now been solved. I am now being taken direct to my blog dashboard again. I guess it was just a little blip…and good thing i didn’t overreact and delete my blogs eh?!! Time and patience is all it required. Thanks one and all.
