Have you checked with your ISP for known issues?
In order to help you we need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

4. Try using another browser.
5. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
I have had problems with updating my site all day:http://stmarysfetcham.org.uk/
I am using a laptop
I have tried Chrome Version 31.0.1650.57 m and Firefox 25.0
With both browsers and despite being logged in, the pages do not have the edit link showing to enable access to the Dashboard
I have therefore accessed editing through logging into WordPress each time, however, not all the updating is happening and one of the links is showing a 404 error – probably because updating has not taken place.
Everything is very slow.
I believe the problem lies with WordPress – please could you raise this as a matter of urgency? -
@stmarysadmin1, can you please let me know which ISP you’re using? We have had some reports of issues in the UK today.
-
-
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll keep an eye on this, and please post an update if things improve for you.
-
In the end I used another pc windows 7 with firefox and it was fine
having done that I assesssed that it must be a software update needed on my old xp upstairs
thus after upgrading my flash player it began working fine
so it must have been lack of my updating that caused the issue
I also updated all other software
problem sorted, thanks so much for your help

No change to the service – or rather lack of service- WP please could you tell me what is happening? Are you trying to fix this problem? An update would be appreciated.

@stmarysadmin1
I assume this is your blog http://stmarysfetcham.org.uk/ is that correct? Is your ISP Talk Talk and if not then who is your ISP please? -
@stmarysadmin1, this sounds like it could be an issue with your internet service provider, but I will need to know who you use to be able to rule this out. I’d also ask you to try a different browser to see if that helps, and try to log into your site from a different computer/location to see if it could be your regular internet connection.

We have received a number of reports that our users with the ISP TalkTalk are having difficulties accessing WordPress.com sites.
Please see https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/dashboard-errors-related-to-talktalk-isp-issue?replies=1 for more information.

Timethief and Jackie – My blog, ISP and browser being used have not changed since I raised the query 2 days ago and also answered your q qs yesterday but here they are again:

@stmarysadmin1
Have you tried another browser?
see here http://browsehappy.comIs your ISP Talk Talk and if not then who is your ISP please?
-
Oops! I’m sorry about the silly another browser question. Got it now.
Chrome 31
Firefox 25 -
Again , this hasn’t changed since I answered yesterday – it is Talk Talk
I have pinged and done a traceroute and neither have shown up any problems
-
And again, there’s a sticky post at the top of the forum about this. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait till they stop blocking your blogs.
-
raincoaster -please could you elaborate? Who are “they”? If you know what the problem is, how do you know?
