  I’d like to take down this website since we are creating a new site with a new domain name

  The site I need help with is ilcdc.wordpress.com.

  Hi sure, sure thing. You can either make the site private, or deactivate it permanently. Both options are managed here:

  Also, did you know you can add a domain to this site if you’d like? You’d be welcome. Here’s the difference between self-managed hosting, and our services:

  You can initiate deleting your site permanently via this link: https://wordpress.com/settings/delete-site

  Here is a support page for detailed information about this step:
  https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/

  You also have the option to make the old site private so you won’t loose this address permanently.
