    Hi,

What do you mean by “take my site live?” The site is publicly visible, and new posts, pages, and other content can be published immediately.

You’re welcome. And thanks for the explanation. I’ve tagged the topic for staff attention.

  • Hello –

It sounds like you’re trying to map a domain to your WordPress.com account? This is the process for using a domain that you already own.

You are able to have multiple sites under one user account. It’s not required that you take down the original site in order to add another to your account.

First, you’ll need to add a WordPress.com Plan to your account. Then you’ll be able to setup Domain Mapping.

The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.25

    192.0.78.24

For more information on mapping a domain, please follow this link:

Please let me know if you have any other questions or need further help.

Thank you – are the above numbers my IP address? Thanks

  • 192.0.78.25
    192.0.78.24

Are the IPs needed to map your domain.

Your personal IP address could be found by searching ‘What’s my IP address?’ in a Google Search.

Thank you, yes I have a non WordPress site that I want to take down and convert my hannahcurrier01 domain to the other site name, are these the ones I use?Thank you

  • You can map your domain with A records (IPs) or via name servers. This process is what you use if you are using a domain that you’ve already purchased elsewhere to show your WordPress.com site.

Does this sound like what you’re trying to do?
