Taking over an existing blog

  I am going to take over the Youth Services Review Blog. The current administrator and I are having trouble with this transition. When I log in through Google I am able to compose a review but I cannot publish it. I have also tried by entering the blog through Library Thing. Can you help?

  I (the admin) did try to follow those instructions but I am told that I can only transfer a site if I am the owner and the option is not there. I am wondering who
  owns the site, if I do not…?

  Perhaps it’s a longshot but early posts on that site are by Sharon Colvin with the WordPress.com username scolvin99

  what would I do about that? Sharon handed it over to me and she now lives in Vermont. Should I try to contact her?

  I received these from Sharon Colvin. since she can do nothing, will you please delete her name but not her posts? she has not been involved since 2014.

  “I don’t remember the password for that site. It’s been a long time. I thought I’d put you in as the owner. You should have the access to make those changes, no?”
  and
  “I have no idea – what’s the username listed? Honestly I don’t even know how to log in.”

  I am told that I can only transfer a site if I am the owner and the option is not there.

  That’s correct — ysbookreviews.wordpress.com is owned by another user of the site. scolvin99 will need to login to their account and transfer ownership. Once they’ve done so, the new owner can remove scolvin99 from ysbookreviews.wordpress.com.

  Are you able to contact scolvin99 and ask them to transfer ownership of the site?

  scolvin99 can try resetting their password if they are unable to login. If that doesn’t work, they will need to fill out Account Recovery form:
