Taking over site for work, I don't know username or password!

bgtcra.com is a site made from a wordpress template. We registered the domain on our own. The guy who ran the site took a new job. He gave me the username and password to the site he created on wordpress before the bgtcra.com site. I have logged in to use this forum off that username and pword. I cannot do anything on that site. Any ideas as to how I can get into the site w/o a username and password? I can’t even find a phone number for wordpress that I could beg and cry to a decision-maker there:-( Surely I’m not the first person this has happened to.
The guy has also blanked out–I still have contact with him.

Your creative insights are welcome (abandoning the website and starting from scratch is not really a welcome suggestion [nervous cough]). Thanks!

So, I just received the kind reminder that I didn’t specify the blog address or reason for posting. Um. I read the information about the difference between wp.com and wp.org–that *was* helpful (thanks!). From that info, I deduce we are using wp.com.
The url to access my website is http://bgtcra.com/–copied in its entirety from my browser. I think the reason is actually pretty well stated in the first entry above.
Gosh, I hope someone out there has a good idea out there for me.
