Taking this website offline
-
Hi,
I googled a blog post on my own website yesterday, and was surprised to see my old website come up in the search results. I thought I had switched to my new website last year and this one was no longer viewable (new website http://www.detaildevil.net.au via wordpress.org). I’ve selected ‘private’ but it states anybody finding the website would see a login page. I don’t want this. How do I remove visibility completely? I’m not sure yet if I want to delete content.
Thanks

Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hello there!
It looks like your site is hosted by a third-party registrar, You are in the wrong forum you should ask the above query in the WordPress.org forum. Please visit this link here http://wordpress.org/support to post to those forums and generate a ticket.
These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:

Hi Amirudra789 – thanks for your reply! Actually, I wasn’t aware I was posting to a forum; I thought I was asking WordPress for help.
In any case, this isn’t the wrong forum – the website I’m referring to is at wordpress.com. I chose not to display the URL for this website when I submitted my query. If you look, it states at the end of my query that this blog is ‘visible only to moderators and staff’.
As stated in my query, the URL I provided in my query (.org) is my new website, and not relevant to this query.
So I still need help!
Thanks,
Pam -
If you’d like to remove the WordPress.com site entirely, you can by following this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
Please note that we don’t have any control over Google’s index. They will need to notice the site no longer exists and remove it from their index, but it will happen eventually.
