Taking wordpress out of www name

  Thinking of paying to get “wordpress” taken out of my site name since it appears it is only $17 a year to do so.

  So I am wondering what would happen to my old posts from the past two-plus years. Would they still have wordpress in their www listing or would everything automatically switch to mrsportsblog.com and not be an issue?

  The “www” is not an issue. All links will redirect when clicked. When you purchase a domain mapping upgrade all the .wordpress.com root blog URLs sill direct to the same posts under the new domain URLs.
