talk to specialist

Hello,
I’m interested in possibly building a website for a summer camp and would like to allow for online registration. Is this possible with WordPress? Do you have any samples of camp websites?
Thanks!

Hi there.
It depends on what you mean with online registration. You can add a contact form that visitors can fill out and submit. The contact form will then be emailed to you and also stored in the site’s dashboard. You can also add a PayPal button for payment, but we can only use the basic PayPal button and you can’t link it to the contact form.
However, there’s no way for users to sign up to your site like one would sign up for a Facebook account. In other words, there’s no way to create a members-only area on a website with WordPress.com. For that functionality you’ll need to set up a self-hosted WordPress.org website instead. (http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/)
Do you have any samples of camp websites?
I’m afraid there aren’t any directories like that for specific kinds of sites. Your best chance to see what’s available here is to search the Reader for tags relevant to summer camps. You can see here how to search for blogs using the Reader or WordPress search: https://en.support.wordpress.com/reader/#discovering-new-blogs
