target='_blank' dissapearing
-
Hi guys,
I am trying to open a link in a new tab. I used classic WP text editor which gave me this result:
INSTAGRAMEverything seems fine with that, no problem at all. But when I save the changes, go to my blog and click the link it opens in the same tab, not a new one! When I examine the source code on the website it looks like this:
INSTAGRAMSomething is missing right? target=’_blank’ just dissapered…
Have any of you encoutered this problem before? I even tried messing up with the code a bit (moving target=’_blank’ in front of the href), nothing helped tho’.
Any advice?
Thank you -
Hi there, are you referring to your site at toinfinity.cz? If so, that site is using the standalone WP.org software and isn’t hosted here on WordPressdotcom.
Standalone WP (org) and WordPressdotcom (where we are) are different entities with different documentation and support forums; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You can find all the support information for sites using the WP (org) software at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page.
Best wishes for a quick resolution.

Hi there, just coming back to update you regarding your query, if you haven’t received an answer on ORG, as this also affects WordPress core.
