  I made around $3,000 on advertising this year, will wordpress send me a tax form to declare that income?

  Hey John,

  Congrats on a lucrative year :)

  The IRS modified reporting requirements for payments made through a Payment Settlement Entity (“PSE”) starting FY 2012. PayPal, who we use to settle our payments to you, is considered a PSE under the IRS’ new regulations.

  Since we are sending payments to you through PayPal (and not cash, bank wire or check), Form 1099-Misc no longer applies to payments we make to you for your WordAds earnings through PayPal.

  You can contact PayPal directly, if you haven’t yet received your tax information for your 2014 returns. Let us know if you need further assistance at all!
