I recently moved my blog to bluehost. However, It seems that the there is no complete backup of the website files. Is there a way wordpress can create a full backup of the website file in the zip format and email to me? Thanks!

Hi there, what WPcom website is involved?
When you export your WPcom site, the XML file created includes your content, posts, pages, comments, feedback, categories and tags and in order to successfully import the media attachments on a new WP install, your old site needs to be online and visible. https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/ Your WPcom theme and widgets will not be exported and you will need to set up and recreate those manually on your new site.
Let us know if you have any other question about this.

Hi there,
Of what site are you speaking? The account you’re using to post here is two weeks old, and has never owned any sites hosted with us on WordPress.com.
It is not possible to provide a full-site backup of a WordPress.com site. WordPress.com uses our own customized version of the WordPress software, and additionally each site is part of our multisite network, so it won’t work to upload your site’s files to another provider’s servers, as the site cannot function on its own independently of our network.
The only thing that can be exported from a WordPress.com site is the site content, i.e. posts, pages, comments, media files, and that is done via a standard WordPress export file which can be downloaded via My Site ->Tools ->Export.

No worries. I was concerned I’d accidentally put on my invisibility cape due to the caching thing. Still happening. :/

Hi @kokkieh and @justjennifer, I work with a team who created the “Devosoft.org” blog using wordpress, prior to my joining them. However, I recently moved that to bluehost servers, under the domain name “ofria.com”. Upon importing, I realized that many images on the website do not exist in this new set up, and are not in the media library either. Contacted bluehost and this was the response: “It seems that the there is no complete backup of the website files due to which you are experiencing this issue. You would need to contact wordpress.com and ask them to create a full backup of the website file in the zip format after which you would need to upload the backup of the website files to our server so that we can check on it and get your website up and running”. Kindly advise, thank you.

Whilst you’re waiting for replies from WordPress.com mod/staff member can you confirm where the original site was hosted? A whois currently shows linode.com. If the site was never hosted here at WordPress.com the images won’t be found here.
Note the two variations of wordpress. Here where sites are hosted using a customised version of the wordpress software and the free wordpress software itself which is used at all other hosts: -
We have no history of
devosoft.orgever being used here, so it most likely was a self-hosted WordPress.org site.To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
In that case, the only way to retrieve a full backup of the site would be to reach out to the site’s former hosting provider.
