Technical Problems With Notifications

supernovia, good to hear from you. To answer your question, this happens when I search WordPress, go to WordPress Reader, use the WordPress Login shortcut that was sent to me when I first got my first blog, my shortcuts to both of my sights and when I use the switch site option. Site addresses are:WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) and CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. The same things happens from my dashboard too. What wrong? I’ve tried everything that timethief said to try to and that didn’t help. How can I do everything I want to do from my notifications again?

Given that, is it OK if I log in as you to see what I can see? The trouble is it would clear current notifications.

No that’s not the problem. I can see the notifications but that it. I can’t reply to comments, like, follow and etc.. from my notification drop down like I could before. My notifications and I can’t answer. this is not only frustrating but ridiculous. I’ve updated Adobe Flash Player and Chrome. I’ve cleared caches and tried another browser but can’t do anything. What’s Wrong? How can it be fixed?

@daisymae2017 OK, and this problem happens no matter what browser?
I can try testing this as you but it would clear notifications.

OK. Go ahead and test. This is weird supernovia and I’m telling you because I feel I should. I found a way around it to answer my notifications but not on my sites. Please test this.

The way I was using to answer my notifications stopped working. hope you get this issue fixed soon.

@daisymae2017 I logged in as you. I was able to see a problem with “liking” comments – and I don’t see that on my own sites. The like worked if I clicked on it, but it didn’t have a hover effect to turn it orange first. Is that what you see?
Also, I tried clicking reply on a comment. I didn’t actually submit the reply (since I am not you) but I was able to type without any problems.

Hover fact and how’s that fixed? There is some good news, I updated Chrome and Flash Player it has started working for now. What problem are you seeing and how’s it fixed?

Well, I’ve tried all the tips and tricks, and none have worked for me. I can see the notifications in the reader bell; however, I can’t click on them to read or respond.

Worked last night but doesn’t work today. Why? Can’t do anything again. What’s the problem. My notifications are the same way didthatjusthappenblog. Very unpredictable. What now?

So it works sometimes but not others? Could that be why I haven’t been able to duplicate it?
@didthatjusthappenblog do you mind if I test by logging in and check your notifications here? You can tell me which ones to like or test. The caveat is that I my doing so would mark your notifications “read” while we’re testing.

Yes that is right, it works sometimes but not others. Possibly the reason why you can’t duplicate. When are you testing? I should get an e-mail when they like, comment or follow, share or reblog right? Answer these questions for me before testing. OK. Can’t wait to see what you find out.

@daisymae2017 you have the option of enabling emails for likes, comments, and follows. I already tested yours when you said “OK. Go ahead and test.”
I don’t test regularly though.
Perhaps you could look for a pattern as to when it works and when it does not?

I was going to unfollow this thread as it is not exactly what I’ve been experiencing. However, as I read thru the comments, @didthatjusthappenblog seems to be EXACTLY the same and they should pop over to my thread. :o)

@daisymae2017 I’m having a really difficult time seeing what you’re seeing. I can’t duplicate it here at all, and maybe I’m just misunderstanding what you’re saying.
Perhaps you could try making a screencast?

krisegbert, I’m subscribed and following your notifications thread. supernovia, what’s a screencast? Can’t reply, like or follow today supernovia. Why am I having this problem. It happens with every browser I use.

Back to not working all the the time. Can’t get it to work at all again. There has to be a way to fix this-right? What’s wrong?
