Technical Problems With Notifications

Can’t reply from bell icon on either WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) and CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE or the WordPress Reader. Sometimes not always I can reply, like and follow and etc… Can you see a screenshot in my media? if you can, let me know and I take a screenshot and upload it to my media. Good Luck!

I didn’t read every entry on this thread, but I have the SAME THING happening since last night! It must be wordpress. And I’m not getting any help or suggestions on how to fix it.
I’m on a Mac running Chrome and this is the first time I’ve had such a problem. I wrote a post and the page just keeps reading “loading”. And I have a red dot next to my “bell” (notifications) and it won’t allow me to see anything.
If you’ve found a solution, please let me know.

skiingchik, I may have a temporary fix for you. You might want to try what I have been lately and go to another blogging site be sure your signed in and try answering from the bell that way. It only works sometimes not always so I call it a temporary fix but it works sometimes and I can usually stay caught up. Good Luck and let me know how things go for you.

I don’t logout either usually. Try it answering on a different site. If you don’t understand what I mean let me clarify. I go to another blog I’m following or that I want to check out once I’m there, I go to the bell and it’s been working that way so far for me. Although I did have some problems but it works usually for me. Can’t wait to hear if it works for you too.

@daisymae2017, that work around DOES work for me, if I “visit” another blog and then click on the bell, then the notifications are all responsive! I’ll keep trying that for now. Thanks!

That’s what I’ve been doing but it won’t work on my sites or WordPress Reader. Don’t know why? skiingchik, you went to my blog, then clicked on the bell and it should work. How did you do it? didthatjusthappenblog glad it works for you.

On Firefox, with my normal browser settings, the notifications under the bell will never (Yes, never) load when I’m viewing any of my sites, or in any WP Admin page. It hasn’t done so for at least a couple of years.
I know which browser settings will allow it to load in those locations, but I’m not going to change my privacy settings in order to view notifications. Not really interested in notifications, which for me are typically just comment or “You’re stats are booming!” (though they seldom are) notices. Anyway, if I get the notification jones, I can view them at My Sites, where they will load below the bell without altering my browser settings.

musicdoc1, I have Chrome and my computer is the same way. However, most of the time if I go to somebody else’s site, I can view, reply, like and etc… from notifications. I didn’t change my settings either. Let me know how it goes. Good Luck.

@didthatjusthappenblog thank you for the screenshot – that’s been the most helpful clue so far as to what’s wrong.
@skiingchik can you also send a screenshot of what you see? This article explains how:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ – you can upload it to your media library.@musicdoc1 thanks; in their case the notifications seem to load, but some are cut off.
And to confirm, all of you are seeing this in multiple browsers, correct?

My Operating System is Windows Windows NT 10.0
I am running Firefox 53.0 without addons, extensions or adblockers of any kind and I never use private browsing mode. I also do not request that my browsing is not tracked as that’s a laughable request IMHO. My Browser Notifications are disabled but I have no issues in getting notifications to load. -
@didthatjusthappenblog I believe your issue may well be found and fixed now. Are you using a touchscreen laptop? And are you seeing this issue anymore?

@supernovia – Yes, my issue has been fixed! I was on this morning and it worked, but I was afraid to believe it, so I got on right after lunch and it still works! I just did a few test things to make sure – and it still works! Yes, I have a touchscreen laptop – and thank you for working through this with me and taking the time to figure it out! :)

Daisy Mae here and yes supernovia I’m on a touchscreen laptop. Why? It’s working now on my site but for how long? I wouldn’t close this thread quite yet until we see what happens.

Now supernovia I’ve got another problem similar problem with my media not loading at all. It shows is a white page. Took a screenshot and it is on the WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) What’s going on? Do you want me to open a thread for this issue? Help.
