Technical support with my WordPress site…not backed up correctly

In need of technical support with my WordPress site, not backed up correctly and my coder is no longer available to work on site. I don’t have the technical knowledge to mess with this. Does WordPress have a support team? Im not comfortable finding someone I don’t know online and then giving them my passwords and site access ? Thats why I am hoping WordPress offers this support. Never inquired before, because I had the help. Thanks !!!!

This is WordPress.com. Support is provided for sites that are actually hosted here. What is the address of your site? Is it hosted here?

It’s a word press site hosted by Yahoo. My coder set it up, perhaps because my email was with yahoo. I might consider changing this now that I know there is technical assistance here at WordPress. What would be involved if I made that change..for the site and my email address?

Is there a phone number for those with interest in switching the host to WordPress and for finding out more about the technical support available to me if I were to do this. If I switch is there telephone support, or is the correspondence all through text? That is a determining factor for me. Thanks so much!

There is no phone support at WordPress.com but there is a lot of practical support and unlike using WordPress.org here at WordPress.com things like updates, security and backups are dealt with automatically by the happiness engineers. A Personal plan gets you email support with staff. A Premium plan or higher gets you LiveChat support with staff:
