technorati

I noticed on my dashboard under URLs that there was a link to technorati. I don’t use them — well, I claimed my blog with them long ago when I first started blogging but I never submit my posts to them since they changed everything around and are so confusing to use (at least for me they are). Since it showed up as a URL click or something like that, does that mean someone else submitted one of my posts through the social bookmarks on the bottom of my post or does that mean technorati was indexing my site? Actually Newsvine showed up as well and I don’t have an account with them. If it’s people submitting, then I did not realize that their submissions would show up on my dashboard. I see readers coming in from different social networks such as stumble but never paid attention to anyone submitting as I did not realize that there was the ability to see that.

Am I being indexed or submitted is what I’m asking — if anyone knows?

On January 31, I will be a year-long blogger so maybe I won’t have as many dumb questions.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sounds to me that a reader or readers submitted your article to technorati from your social bookmark bar.

Usually you can tell by looking at the click stats on your dashboard. Note you would have to pull up the stats page up to see the click stats on the lower right hand of the screen.

Thanks. I found it under clicks – URL. I just looked at all the clicks more closely. I guess it was people submitting as technoriti, digg, addthis, onlywire and newsvine shows up. I don’t know which post generated all these submissions but I guess it doesn’t matter. I was more curious than anything else if I was being indexed or submitted.
