Technorati ping on free accounts?

  According to Technorati,I should be able to set up auto-pinging from wordpress. However, that feature is not in my dashboard, which I assume is due to having a free account. Is there a way to set up pinging for free accounts, or do we have to do it manually?

  The WordPress.com blogs automatically ping Pingomatic and they in turn ping Technorati.

  Please note that WordPress.com is not WordPress.org. I have a feeling that Technorati is discussing the downloadable version of WordPress found at WordPress.org.

  I’m begining to think that technorati is having some serious issues. My updated twice webcomic is showing as not having up dated in 3 days while my main blog is now 44 days behind. Lots of fun.

  I’m seeing your blog although its listed as 14 days behind.

  *chuckle* Maybe Matt and I should loan them some servers. :)

  Scripts are not allowed on WP.com blogs for security reasons. It’s mentioned in the FAQ at the head of these forums. FAQ as well with specific reasons why.

  T. picks up the WordPress category tags as their own as well so you don’t need to worry about them. If you really find the need though for overkill, there’s a method you can use explained here.
