Technorati problem reading my blog
-
I was told that it’s a good idea to register a blog with Technorati, so I tried to do so.
Right after I submitted the blog, my claim status says that they are having trouble to read my blog, and
their engineers will try to solve it and get back to me on the issue.I haven’t heard anything yet, it’s been a few days – does anyone here ran into similar problem?
I am wondering if I gave them a bad link for my feed, how can I make sure I sent them a working, functional
RSS feed info? Could that be the source of the problem reading my site?thanks for your input on this….
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Which feed URL are you entering at Technorati?
This one: http://bewitchingkitchen.com/feed/ or this one: http://bewitchingkitchen.wordpress.com/feed/ ?Does the problem happen with both?
-
I entered the first one….
I guess I’ll go back and try to re-claim my blog using the second one – I did not think about the change in domain names
I’ll report back…
thank you!

Me again… no luck.
Now I’ve got two blog claims that have problems :-)
maybe at some point they will get in touch with me? (fingers crossed)

sallybr,
I got the same message from Technocrati yesterday. Someone in their forum said it will take a while (maybe a week) before you hear from them again. I’ll keep my fingers crossed as well.

vanillalounge,
I am wondering what exactly to put in the RSS Feed URL?
Is it my WordPress blog (teeart.wordpress.com)?
or Is it teeart.wordpress.com/feed?
or Is it teeart.wordpress.com/feed/rss?
or Is it teeart.wordpress.com/feed/atom?How do I know?

Hey Guys & Ladies,
I have been having the exact same problem since 16th January and have been fed the same ridiculous message time & time again.
I have even gone through the entire process with one of Technorati’s employees & still am no nearer getting by blog claim sorted.
So my advice to all is don’t hold your breath on this one, it can literally take months to make any progress.

Nothing for me still…. I pretty much gave up. Wrote a few messages to try and get some feedback, total silence
oh, well

@Sally
I notice this is a long standing problem when I visit the getsatisfaction site http://getsatisfaction.com/technorati/topics/blog_claiming_is_taking_forever
Have you read the Technorati Blog Claiming FAQ and addressed all those points?
http://technorati.com/blog-claiming-faq/ -
I did read those files, and I “think” I addressed all the points. Since they told me they would get back to me on whatever was wrong, I thought that it would be some problem that they had to address on their end.
I went to the getsatisfaction site and… wow! There are some real angry folks there!

Amazingly enough, I got an email today from them, with the following (no good news)
Apr 23, 2010. We could not find the claim token in any posts in your feed. Please make sure that you have entered it correctly in a post body and that the token appears in the feed whose URL you have given us.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
What exactly did I do wrong???? ideas?
-
Probably nothing. Sometimes Technorati works, sometimes it does not. And the Support is appalling.
Do a new post with the claim token in it and then go to Technorati and Ping it manually (that link is down towards teh bottom of the page; it FORCES Technorati to crawl your site).

I am sorry to be so absolutely dense, but when you say “do a new post with the claim token in it, what exactly do you mean? Where do I put the token, in the end of the text? Do I enter as HTML?
I thought the token was supposed to be entered as a widget text.
-
You can put it in a text widget or you can put it in a post, like Google verification.
TT; it’s still around somewhere. I used it last week. Maybe I found it only because I’d bookmarked it on that computer, though.
Sally, let’s review: you’ve got a Technorati account, right? And which version of claiming your blog are you using? There are several.
Unfortunately, Technorati is broken right now and I can’t sign in to review the latest signup procedures.
