  • Hi there,

Are you speaking of the theme templates in the site editor at Appearance ->Editor?

I see you have one custom template you created yourself, titled Front Page, that’s completely empty. I suspect what you had wanted to do was create an actual front page instead, correct?

To do that you instead need to go to Pages ->All pages, and create or edit a page there. Once you publish the page, you’ll then be able to set it as the front page on your site.

To edit the default templates for your theme, go to Appearance ->Editor, click on the template name at the top, and click on “Browse all templates”. That will show you a list of all templates that exist on your site, and you can click on any one to edit it. Note that changes you make to a template, will affect all pages on your site that use that particular template.

You can find a detailed description of how the site editor works here:

Which template has the ‘Subscribe to my newsletter’ box?

WordPress.com doesn’t have any newsletter subscription options built in. The only subscription feature we offer is for people to subscribe to new posts on your site itself, and you can add that to any post or page using the Subscription Form block:

    https://wordpress.com/en/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/subscription-form-block/

To add a separate newsletter subscription to your site, you first need to create an account at a newsletter service, like Mailchimp. Then you add a signup form or signup link for that service to your site.

We have blocks for Mailchimp, MailerLite and Revue available on WordPress.com:

    https://wordpress.com/support/subscriptions-and-newsletters/#newsletters

Those blocks are available on your free site. But if you want to add a subscription form via a different method, or from a different service, that would require that you upgrade to the Pro plan so that you can either install a plugin for that service, or embed whatever custom code they provide for a signup form.

Let me know if you have any questions.
