What happened to the Live Preview tab that shows what my blog would look like with a new template? The only option is a generic Live Demo.

Hi @topcat1953, the newer Full Site Editing themes tend to be a lot more flexible in the layout. Instead of just putting your text and images into the theme’s predefined layout, can use patterns to design your pages and posts:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/block-pattern/You can also modify the templates and styles to your liking. If you have time, we have a video on that here:
https://wordpress.com/support/full-site-editing/For now though, it does take some experimentation to get used to it, and that could involve changing the content on your site. If you want to have something similar to the “Try and Customize” feature, I’d recommend making a new free site, then importing your live site’s content to that:

supernovia, you are one of the best and I truly appreciate your response. I’m not really looking for flexible, but simple and easy. I’m an 18th century guy who is swimming against the tide in an increasingly digital world.
It was so easy and convenient to simply click the Live Preview. Some time ago, someone posted a link to the old template layout where the Live Preview was still active. I thought I bookmarked it but I can’t find it.
What with the block editor and all, blogging has become more difficult than fun.
