template is not editable
-
New template is not editable when clicking “edit” on “About” page. Also, cannot drag in my own palate of colors as it appears I should be able to do. When I try to open the url in another browser (firefox versus chrome) I’m greeted with a snarky message “Cheatin’ uh?” on a WordPress Error page as if I’m trying to do something wrong with a template I just purchased! Is this an issue with the template, should I contact whoever made the template, and is it fixable or do I need to find another template? I don’t want to spend more time than necessary on this part of the setup. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
The current content on the “About” page is just a placeholder until you edit the page. So, when you visit the “Edit Page” link below, you’ll see placeholder text:
https://kmstrategiccontent.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=edit
When you edit the text in that box, the default About page content that currently displays your Gravatar profile will be removed. Does that make sense?
Regarding the dragging of colors, are you trying to drag the colors onto the Customizer at Appearance -> Customize -> Colors? If so, it doesn’t appear as though dragging colors is supported there. You will need to choose from one of the supported color palettes.
As for the “Cheatin’ uh?” message, can you explain when you’re receiving this? I’ve tried to recreate the message, but I have been unable to. I’d like to figure out exactly what triggers the message.

Hi Jeremey,
Thanks for the link, it looks like that is not where I was trying to edit before. Honestly I don’t remember where I was as too many days have passed. I will give it another try now.
I have a screenshot of the cheating message but appears I can’t attach anything here. At this url https://kmstrategiccontent.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php
it’s just a little white box that says in plain text: “Cheatin’ uh?” -
Hi!
Please let me know if you experience any additional trouble with editing the page template you’re referring to.
Regarding the cheating message, if you would like, you can upload a screenshot to your Media Library. I’ve tried multiple actions within the Customizer, but I can’t seem to recreate the message. If you’re able to capture a screenshot or to nail down what kind of action causes it, please let me know!

Hi Jeremey,
I uploaded the error screenshot.
On the page template for kmstrategiccontent blog, is it not possible to change the color of the subheader font on the blog template? No matter which colors I pick, it doesn’t seem to impact the font color? (Color of “Not Another Content Marketing Blog??” Underneath “The KM Strategic Blog.” I’d really like to change the color of the fonts. Do I have to just upload a graphic there if I want to make changes?
Thanks!

Hi!
Thanks for the screenshot of the error message. I’m investigating that a bit more!
Regarding changing the color of the description, that can be achieved through the following CSS:
h2.site-description { color: #fff; }You’ll want to place that at Appearance -> Customize -> CSS. The hex code can be changed to whatever color you’re looking for. Here’s a solid resource for finding hex codes:
Let me know if you need anything else!
