TEMPLATE WITH "click here to read more"

I m looking for a template where I can have on the homepage a preview of the last 3-4 posts and then the possibility to click on “click here to read more” underneath each post.
I am using the template Twelve, but I don’t know if this functionality easily come with the upgrade or if the template is wrong for this purpose

You can have that functionality in any theme if you use the More tag. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

Is there a way where I post something on the home ( let say this post is about food) and automatically the page dedicated to “food” is updated with this content as well?
now I am copy-past every post but sure it is not the best practice… -
It is definitely not the best practice, it is the worst one.
