Templates

Hy, I’m new to wordpress, I’m not really understanding it, can anyone explain how to design the blog and templates?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
You are not the only one not understanding WP I still find it has the worst help system I have ever come across and I~ thought I was computer literate and have built my own data bases and accounts packages and used various systems
WP seems to be all over the place and to use one method for adding one thing and another totally different method for another similar feature
For instance to add a comments field one uses Page Options to add a feed back form then one has t use a strange little icon in the central formatting block WeirdAnd I find their help system hard to find every time and even harder to reach and work out where things are, and the menu differs depending on how you reached it so some times some topics are displayed but another time they will have gone nd another list of topics appeared
I have tried complaining to and seeking advice form WP but to no avail
Of all the web page builds I have used this is certainly for me the hardest to master

This is the URL http://hafsaah.wordpress.com/ and this is the Admin login link http://hafsaah.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Every theme has a detailed theme description page with set up instructions like this one https://wordpress.com/themes/dyad/and a live demo site like this one https://dyaddemo.wordpress.com/
re: the front page error message found on every new .wordpress.com blog
There is nothing wrong with your blog.
By default, the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post, not a page, the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
For creating a post in the New editor see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#publish-a-new-post
For creating a page in the new editor see here
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/#create-a-new-pageFor editing in the new editor see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
See also the “Video Quick Start” tutorial http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-quick-start/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.
A blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

@deryck23
Please use this link to start your own thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 and clearly state exactly what you need help with in your own thread. -
@timethief What are you trying to say? I have no idea what you are on about Why on earth are you inviting me to start my own thread I ahed enough trouble with WP without wanting to spend time doing tihings for a completely unknown reason
Do you want to explain what it is you want?
Thanks
-
If WP had a half decent help system we would not have to be here with elementary questions

From the sticky post at the head of this support forum:
Avoid asking off-topic questions in existing threads. Everyone wants their question answered. Staff and volunteers can better answer your question if you start your own thread.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-community-standards?replies=1Bottom line: you posted into an existing thread and failed to provide any assistance at all to the person who started the thread. That is referred to as hijacking a thread or thread jacking. As soon as you start your own thread, and clearly state exactly what you need help with in it, I will gladly provide the help you need.

@deryck23
In the event that you do not have a need for help with any specific blogging issue and you hijacked this thread simply to complain about what you perceive to be inadequate support service, I can assist with that too. Below you will find the ways and means for contacting Staff.See here for all the support options when you have technical support issues see https://en.support.wordpress.com/help-support-options/
Those who have a paid upgrade use the “Contact Support” form, http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ where they will receive a choice of having staff answer your question publicly or privately.
The best contact form to use now is:
http://wordpress.com/help/contact
Live chat will be available there if we have Happiness Engineers available to chat. When they are not available using that link results in posting to this peer support forum. https://en.support.wordpress.com/live-chat/re: direct email support
Also note, that you can email Staff at:
support@wordpress.com
or
help@wordpress.com -
But I was not looking for help or I would have started my own thread and asked a question
What question do you feel I was asking?
I meant only to commiserate with the questioner and letting him or her know that he or she was not alone in finding WP hard to follow or fathom

Thanks for confirming that you chose to commiserate in a support thread and do not actually need specific blogging assistance at this time. Hopefully, hafsaah will find my response at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/templates-15?replies=10#post-2620353 and you will not continue this behavior.
-
@timethief I really appreciate the guide and links you provided, it’s helping a lot😃 thank you!
-
@timetheif you hope I will not continue what behaviour?
And I was I am sure aware of all the links you sent
