templates

I really don’t understand where all your templates are. the first step on your site, get started, it takes you the next page, that forces you to pick a template without ever seeing a preview. You have to commit to with an email address, then a plain. I have never even seen the template yet…. Wix, shows you 100 of templates, lets you preview them and them pick one….After you work on it, you can pay for the plain. You need to look at how Wix is doing it.

There are hundreds of free themes https://wordpress.com/themes/free and we can switch at any time.
Relevant support doc link https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/
Switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes
Note that switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
If you do not have the required access and someone else registered the site you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them act.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.
