Temporarily deactivating my site

  Hello,
  I am looking to redesign my website and repurpose it to make it more manageable for my busy work schedule. Whilst I modify it, I was hoping to temporarily deactivate it. Is this possible?

  It’s not exactly deactivating the site, but you can make it private, so it’s not visible to anyone on the web. You will find the instructions for changing your site’s privacy settings here:
