Temporarily disable site

    I’d like the option to temporarily disable and then enable my site numerous times throughout the day. Is this possible?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    You can “disable” your site at any time by setting it to private. You do this at My Site ->Manage ->Settings. Any posts you publish during that time will not send out notifications to your email subscribers, but will be visible to your followers in the Reader once you set the site back to public.

    Also note that search engines will stop indexing your site while it’s set to private, and changing this setting often will almost certainly have a negative result on how your site is displayed in search engine results.
