temporarily hiding of comments

In my blog, I started recently presenting my readers with photoquizes and due to the good cooperation of some readers, they were a big success. Those readers comment on the solution by presenting their soling attempts as cryptic hints, to which I anser giing othe cyptic hints an so on, thus guiding to the final solution until somebody pinpoints the correct answer. Afterwards, I augment the quiz with the full answer, more info and so on.
In order to give also to future readers the posibility to try to solve the quiz for themselves, I put at the end of the quiz a warning message to the effect that the solution is revealed in the comments and that there is a second part of the article (which I tie to hide through the <more!> mechanism). Such a quiz you can see here: http://greekchesspolitics.wordpress.com/2009/10/09/quizmore/.
Of course, I soon discovered that whenever the post itself was selected, it appeared in its entity, all parts and comments too. So I replaced the <more!> mechanism with a <nextpage>, as in the present version, to at least hide the final solution.
The only problem remaining is the appearance of the first comments whenever the article is selected and I wonder whether there is mechanism by which the comments will only appear after the reader has selected them to appear or if I have to resort to some ugly measure, like putting a first comment myself to push all other comments further down the screen.
    TIA

I’m not aware of any such mechanism – other than the makeshift you already thought of (by the way, instead of pushing comments “further down the screen”, you can make them show up each in its own separate page, but I find that hideous).

The only solution I can think of is publishing a new post with the quiz (comments off), and with a link to the original post (which will then be re-categorized as “Quiz solutions” or something to that effect).

    And a couple of suggestions:

    a) “Quiz” doesn’t show up in your category cloud; you probably need to edit the widget to increase the “number of categories to show”.

    b) Your page takes too long to load (for visitors with a slow connection it might even time out before fully loading); I would reduce the number of posts per page to only a few.
