Temporarily switching off email subscribers

Hello, I would like to temporarily switch off the notifications sent to my email and blog subscribers so that when I make new posts they are not sent something which is not relevant to them. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks James

There is no option for doing that. You can make the blog private temporarily and publish a post and then make it public again.
To change blog visibility to Private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Site Visibility and choose option 3

Many thanks for coming back to me so promptly. I had actually done that but it still sent the email notification when I published. Is there a set period of time that I should have option three selected for? Thanks, James
