Temporarily take down a blog?
-
Is there a way to temporarily take down a blog without making it private?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi disc440,
I looked around to see what I could learn and found this post, it looks like they were trying to do the same:
-
I understand what they are saying because I have a website. I just do not know how to access the index file for my blog?
-
Ah, you aren’t able to access the index file because your site is hosted at wordpress.com. I didn’t realize that you couldn’t use plugins for a .com site (I typically support .org sites which can use plugins). I can’t find anything that would allow you to do it without changing the mode to private. Maybe someone else will have a suggestion. I’ll watch and maybe learn something new too!
Good luck :)

Use the Bulk Editor and you can set all the Posts / Pages to “Private” – that will mean that only I think an Admin can see them – anyone else still sees the blog but none of the content that is Private

I do not want to list it as private….that’s too uppity. Just would like to see a way to use the “under construction or repair” thing. Thanks you for your help.
