Temporary blog privacy

I see it isn’t possible to limit who sees my posts via e-mail if they are subscribed. I know a competitor has subscribed to my blog and every time I post the work I’ve done for a new client he is notified. If I set my blog to “private” when posting new material then go “public” soon thereafter will this effectively produce the desired effect, he won’t be notified by e-mail?

  • Unfortunately, no. Folks can only subscribe to a blog when it’s public, so existing subscribers are considered as getting a free pass, even if you make it private.

I can remove the subscriber for you, but the only way to keep from subscribing again would be to set your blog as private and leave it that way.
