temporary deactivation?

Is there a way to temporarily deactivate a blog, and then reactivate sometime in the near future without having to delete all content? Or a way to hide all content temporarily?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The best way to do that is to set your site to be “private”. The instructions for doing so can be found here:
