Temporary domain

  We have an existing web site and will be rebuilding in WordPress, but we don’t want to actually move the domain link until the new site is built. How can we proceed in WordPress?

  Hi smithandshellenberger

  You can start by creating a free site (no custom domain), adding content and choosing a theme etc. The domain can be transferred to WordPress.com when you are ready with your site and want to switch the domain.

  If you need to upgrade in order to access upgraded features like additional storage space, custom CSS or unlimited premium themes etc before then, the domain credit included in the plan can be left unused until a later date.
