Temporary removal of a post
-
I want to temporarily remove a blog post from public view. The Help content indicates that I can recover a post placed in trash if I do so by 30 days. Otherwise, it is permanently deleted. Is there another option?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes there is another option :-)
When you edit the post, in the right hand sidebar there is a section called ‘Status’. It’s not that clear in the documentation but you have two options which can be changed in this section:
Option 1 – Set the page so it’s only visible to Admins and Editors. This will make the page private until you change this to be visible to site members again.
Option 2 – Hit the little button that says ‘Revert to draft’. This will change the status to draft (i.e. not published or visible on the site). Just hit publish again when you’re ready to make it public.

Hi Marilin,
There are a couple of other options. Not all that clear in the documentation so easily missed.
When you edit the post there’s a ‘Status’ section in the sidebar on the right.
Click the wee arrow to open this up. The status will be ‘Published’ and it’ll show the date/time you published the post. You’ll also see who it’s visible to (probably ‘Site Members’).
You can either
a) Make the post only visible to Admins and Editors. This will remove it from pubic view. Just change back to ‘Site Members’ when you’re ready.
or
b) Hit the wee button that says ‘Revert to draft’. This will do what it says and un-publish the post. Just hit publish again when you’re ready.
