Termination of DowntownDC Properties Site

    We are in the process of making changes in how we share information here at the DowntownDC BID. As a result, we will no longer be using the WordPress site to share and disseminate information. I wanted to know how to terminate/retire the site? I am currently the site administrator, but I was not the site creator when this was developed in December 2011. Is there still a way for me to terminate/retire? Thanks.

    To delete a WordPress.com site you must be logged in as admin with the exact same username and password that registered the account in the first place. You might need to track down those details (if they are different to the ones you are using) to help the deletion go smoothly. If the site has any paid upgrades they need disabling first too. You could try going to “Settings” and see if you have the correct permissions to make the site “Private”. That would be a useful first step.
