Although I’ve sent an email to Tosreports@wordpress to seek clarification re the removal of the above post, I thought there might be some interest among bloggers in clarifying the terms of service: “Please desist from publishing content that violates our policy against posting violent or directly threatening material. Continued publication of this type of content may result in the permanent suspension of your blog and/or account.”

Actually, I’m very careful when discussing hot topics on my site to avoid call for violence. The complaint in this case probably came from the subject of a blog post relating to this story: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3615284/Meet-law-graduate-used-SUGAR-DADDIES-met-online-finance-entire-50-000-year-education.html

The subject of the story commented on it claiming that the post was slander. Then she or a friend contacted WordPress claiming that the post threatened her, probably after she got nowhere with a slander complaint.

I NEVER deliberately advocate violence, but rather use mockery and ridicule to sway opinion. My question here is whether there is a way to appeal a blog suspension or permanent take down. I have a feeling that she is going to continue to complain as part of a vendetta. So far, the blog is still up but I am not optimistic about the situation. BTW, there are over 10,000 posts on the site and this is the first time anyone complained about a threat or that I was advocating violence.

Thoughts, anyone? Anyone else feel unfairly treated in the process. Shouldn’t we be notified before WP removes a post so that we can edit it ourselves? I’ve appealed to the TOS people, but probably won’t hear back from them for a while.

  • Hi there,

The support forums are not the place for having discussions about our terms of service, and we don’t help with ToS-related issues here either, so I’ve closed this thread.

If you have any questions about action taken on your site, please reply to the email we sent you yesterday and someone from the ToS staff will answer you there.
