Terrible customer services

    Hello,

I paid for a domain name with the WordPress team (www.theschool.biz) in February 2015. I renewed the use of this site address on March 7th, this year. However, when I try to reach the site, I receive the error message ‘Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.’ When I do as it instructs, I am asked to map my existing domain name to theschooldotbiz.wordpress.com for £11.00.

Now, two things immediately strike me here. Firstly, ‘theschooldotbiz.wordpress.com’ was never my primary domain name. The whole reason I paid money was to have ‘www.theschool.biz’ – an easily memorable (and easy to type) domain name. Secondly, I am being asked for more money, even though I have my billing receipts on file.

Wordress have one of those ridiculous ‘Help’ procedures that sends you round in circles, expecting their ‘community’ to help you out instead of taking the responsibility themselves. So… if anyone could tell me how to contact them directly, I would be grateful.

    Hi there!

Sorry to hear that, I’ll tag this thread now, so the staff will help you and make the things all right for you.

    Regards.

  • Hi there,

I’m going to contact our registry partners to get your domain back under your account. Although you renewed back in March, the domain expired back in July. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I’ll let you know once I hear back from the registrar about your domain.

    Thanks!

  • You’re very welcome! Hopefully I’ll hear from the registry soon.
