This is a test. I tried posting to your forum a while back but the message never went through. Not sure what’s going on.

    Greetings:

First off, I have the paid plan (so customization is possible) and I understand the difference between .org and .com, so I am in the right place. I’m not afraid of the command line, and I know something about HTML/CSS but not PHP or JS. I also RTFM but have not been able to find the specific answers I’m looking for. Here goes.

Have been through several themes—Blink (paid) and Broadway/Cubic (free)—finally settled on Blask which almost meets my needs.

No posts at all. Just projects displayed on the portfolio enabled home page. These are or will be narratives—multimedia short stories. Currently the featured images are just placeholders but some of the stories are already live.

The project-title-visible-on-mouse-over is an eye catching effect as are the other effects on clicking the link—visible border and brief darkening of the image.

    BUT

The titles are key parts of the projects and need to be visible at all times on all devices. Otherwise it’s a book without a cover…

    SO

I need the custom CSS to make the project titles visible at all times on all devices while retaining the other hover/click effects currently in place.

    ALSO

I would the the order of the array of thumbnails on the portfolio/home page to be random. I tried inserting shortcode [portfolio orderby=rand] in the visual tab of the page but haven’t noticed any change on clearing the browser cache and refreshing the page.

According to studies I’ve read, many—in fact most—folks nowadays are accessing content on phones and tablets, so the whole mouse over business is much less enticing or useful an effect than it used to be. “Daddy, what’s a mouse?”

Thank you for your attention to the foregoing.

    Best wishes,

    Carmine
