  I have a small non-profit genealogy society and I am trying to do a website. WordPress has been recommended but I need to try and build the website just to see if I can do it. I would like to try WordPress without signing up and if I can do it then pay and publish. Is there a way?

  You can start with a free plan if you would like to test it out, but you won’t have access to the features in the paid plans such as plugins or premium themes. Here is the comparison of plans: https://wordpress.com/pricing/ but you can definitely try out the free plan first!
