Testemonial page removal?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!

    I was wondering if i could remove the separate pages for the testemonials in my theme. I would like them to remain on my homepage, but if you click on the name of the person a separate page pops up.

    I don’t like the look of that page and the logo’s get blown up in the header. Is there any way to remove these pages?

    Thanks in advance!

    Daan

  • Hi there,

    Do you know that your Business Plan gives you access to 24/7 live chat and priority email support? You don’t have to post for help here in the public forums where staff might not even see your question. You can reach live chat via the help icon that appears bottom right in My Sites, or directly via https://wordpress.com/help/contact

    I’m not clear exactly what you mean by removing the pages. What pages exactly are you speaking of? Do you mean the individual testimonial pages like https://freshfilms.nl/testimonial/swap-support/?

    Removing that page will also cause the testimonial itself to disappear from the site’s front page, as the content that appears on the front page is pulled in from the individual testimonial pages in the same way that the posts displaying under “Meest recente berichten” are pulled in from the actual posts published under My Site ->Posts. You can’t have content like that dynamically added to the front page without that content existing somewhere else on your site as well.

    There might exist a plugin that will allow you to create testimonials in the plugin itself, and then use a shortcode to insert the testimonials on the site, but the built in testimonials feature does not work that way.

    The only thing we can do with custom CSS is to hide the link, but that will hide the linked text as well, so you’ll have to add the name in the content of the testimonial:

    /* Hide Testimonial page link */
    .testimonial.section div.author__name.media__body {
    	display: none;
    }
