My site is http://www.ramanan50.wordpress.com
How do I create Testimonials and make them visible? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Hi, there.
Here are step-by-step instructions for that.
I hope this helps.

I do not find link for enabling Testimonials under writing in my admin.
I have prepared the ‘Testimonials’ but unable to show them, probably because of this. -
When you go here:
https://ramanan50.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-writing.php
and scroll down, do you see a section for “Your Custom Content Types?”

Thanks.
I have been able to find ans checked it and created the testimonial.

Glad you got it set up and got some testimonials created.
There are several ways to display them on your site.
The simplest is to add them to your primary menu.
https://ramanan50.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php
At that link, you can either add individual testimonials to the menu, or add the following URL as a custom link.
https://ramanan50.wordpress.com/testimonial/
You can also add testimonials to pages or posts using a shortcode. That process is described here.

Zapier says it backs up wordpress posts.
In the instructions, I am asked to provide home page url,my sign in for wordpress and the worpress password have the posts backed up in Google Drive.
If I provide wp sign in and password, would it not allow others to hack into my site?May I use this application to back up my posts ?
Is this safe?If not, please suggest a simple method to back up my wordpress posts.

I’ve used Zapier for other things, but I don’t personally believe that it’s a good idea to use it in this case for your backups.
For one thing, WordPress.com automatically backs everything up, in a way that it is *extremely* unlikely that you would lose any data, unless you delete it yourself.
Here are a couple of articles that might be helpful, though.

I hope this helps. Others may have additional info or ideas.

I am planning to bring out a couple of books from my blog.
I need to have them downloaded.
I also need to have a publisher.
Any suggestions on this front?
Self publishing platforms Ok?
In Blurb I find it difficult to cut and paste portions from my Posts.
Any alternate solution that is easy as cut and paste and image upload.
These I can after I upload.
Sorry for the list of queries.
By the way, integrating through Zapier, is it safe from hacking as I will be sharing my wp password there ?

If you follow the link above to learn how to export your content, the resulting file can be useful to import or use elsewhere.
I’m sorry, I don’t have recommendations on self-publishing, but here’s a good article on the subject.
The articles I’ve seen at Zapier on WordPress integration and triggers are about self-hosted sites, not sites here on WordPress.com. I would not personally recommend giving my WP login credentials, but others may have experience or opinions on this.

Thank you and I shall read the article and shall come back if I have any doubts.
I shall take your suggestion on Zapier
Thanks again for swift replies and Regards -
I have just enabled two step authentication.
( I have been trying to have done this for the past one year, due to some glitch with my service provider(BSNL), the codes were not coming in)
Now I have received the code.
To check I signed out from my account and relogged.
I was asked the code,
I entered the first on the list and I was logged in.
Then I logged out and as a Two step authentication, the first number sent me did not work.
I was logged in after I entered the second number sen to me.
Please let me know the exact process .
Do I need to enter the third number If I sign out and log I again.
I have received ten code numbers.

Hello, again.
Those ten codes that you got when you set up two-step are supposed to be for emergency situations where you don’t have your device to receive a new code available. Each of them will only work one time.
Here’s the support article on two-step authentication, and specifically the section on SMS.
By the way, when you have a different issue than the one you started with, you should start an entirely new topic from here on, rather than adding new issues to this one.
Best,
Brian
