Text alignment in photo captions

  I can’t make text in photo captions do anything but be centered. It’s more professional to have captions left-aligned. Is there a way this can be done?

  I’d also like to italicise captions – is there a way to do this too?

  As far as I know, no, because captions are in what WP calls “shortcode”: a ready-made formula, the parameters of which we cannot access. If you want full control over your image legends, you have to use html coding for tables.
